Arachnothelphusa rhadamanthysi
Arachnothelphusa rhadamanthysi - a group of freshwater crabs dwelling in the muddy cave stream. This species of freshwater cave crabs are endemic to this cave and possibly other caves nearby. 15mm width carapace dark brown in color with lighter brown pincers.
Live in a shallow murky stream filled with guano in Gomantong Caves (endemic), on the way to Sukau, Lower Kinabatangan, Sabah.
>>>Map accuracy : 100m diameter. This is something new for me, I have never seen cave crabs before in my life. This is one of my most interesting spottings from my visit here in Gomantong Caves. Another earlier spotting of this species from the same location by Lenny2 http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/139...

Thank you Karen and Mark.
I have switched the gif picture with the 3rd picture.
They seem to show up best in pic 3
Very clever Chun, but maybe use a standard photo as the main image so we can see the crabs better?
:) I Like the sparkling on your glasses, Mark.. How to make it ?
You've given me an idea to present some of the fungi and moths with flash on flash off. It could be useful. I would increase the dwell though to avert migraines or worse. :)
Thank you Mark and Robby.
This gif picture is created by combining the 2nd and 3rd photo to show the crabs movement. There is a fair amount of sunlight reaching inside this cave through 2 large cave entrances. This stream flows out of the cave so crabs that live closer to the entrance are exposed to more sunlight.
Here is a picture showing that the cave is quite bright especially during noon. http://www.worldreviewer.com/travel-guid...
Fascinating spotting Chun. I like the use of anim-gif here. Do these crabs see any daylight ever?
Thank you too Gerardo and Jolly.
Very creative posting Chun. Unusually beautiful.
Very cool Chun :)
Tnx for the info I didn't know is possible to upload it like this too! ;)
Hello Injica, you can do it by converting your pictures into gif file and using applications like unfreez to combine several gif pictures into one animated picture like this one.
Agree with Chief, how did you do that? cool new refreshment here on noah
Thank you Chief, I like it too.
