Kentucky Warbler

Description:

Medium size warbler with an olive green back, bright yellow below and on the face with a distinctive black stripe running from the bill to the nape just under the eye.

Habitat:

Brushy woods near a creek, river and swamps.

Notes:

The call of the Kentucky Warbler sound a lot like that of the Carolina Wren. The Kentucky call is only two notes however and there are longer pauses in its call than those of the wren. To me, it sounds more like a Prothonotary Warbler with a slur than a wren (instead of sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet it is ssswwwweet, sswweet, sswweeet)
