The bark is OK for a young Sessile Oak. It will get darker and fissured as the tree grows older.

Looks like an oak to me Lipase. Not sure what oak species are in the UK though... Bark is variable among species. Mostly likely white oak family, however possibly red oak family if the tips of the lobes have bristle tips (sharp points). Tree looks under stress from the epicormic branching and vines.
