A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Marine, fin-footed mammals. Rather tubular in body shape. Has a short tail which was a surprise for me. These are likely to be Grey Seals but there may also be Common Seals here....so am not confident. Help welcome.
North Sea. There is this sheltered cove which can be seen in the third photo. It is ideal for resting when the tide is out. When the tide comes in, there is a sort of channel via which the water enters and the seals lined up ...one after the other ...to exit...it reminded me of aeroplanes lining up for takeoff. Then of course, the entire sea was theirs for swimming. For all their clumsy, laborious movements on land, they are extremely graceful in water.
