White-tailed Deer

Odocoileus virginianus

Description:

A small herd of White-tailed Deer at Cape Henlopen State Park in Delaware

Habitat:

Large field with adjacent pine forest

Notes:

This population of deer is seen by hundreds of thousands of people every year while passing this field on their way to the beach. I've personally seen them an estimated 75% of the times I've been in the area for the past 15 years. There's also a white deer that is seen from time to time in the herd.
