Thyretes sp.
These photographs were taken in a span of about a week, 9th to 15th May, 2013. In the morning of the first day (9th), this moth was found resting on the wall with other moths. I was surprised to still find it there by noon when the others had already gone. On close observation, I discovered that there were small round silver-coloured balls on the wall near its abdominal end, like eggs or excretion. I was unsure. The silver balls kept increasing day by day and it changed position often to make room for new balls. After the last photograph on the 15th, it was gone by daytime leaving the mystery balls behind. \ I imagined there could be a clue or message in the array of the balls, but it made absolutely no sense

Very true!
Very cool. A moth artist. Artists are sometimes misunderstood.
Maybe. Just maybe :-)
Or maybe she just couldn't fly until she uploaded all those heavy little eggs! :)
Great pictures! I can't believe she stayed there 7 days laying eggs. She must be more artistic than maternal because there's nothing on a wall for the hatched larvae to eat. She just wanted to be creative... and certainly succeeded!
