Avicularia purpurea
About 4cm body length. Black colouration with a purple/blue sheen on legs and carapace; abdomen is black and covered in stinging hairs. This species is arboreal, but is also found living in holes in walls and roofs of houses. This species was described in 1990 by Peter Kirk.
In the Amazon region of Ecuador, in Tena.
