Malayan Tiger Moth

Cyana malayensis

A tiger moth with clear warning colours to mark its toxicity / poisonous. Most likely a male C. malayensis which most of the species under the Cyana genus are very similar in coloration and patterns - red and white stripes with black spots and orange wing tip. These colours make them stand out but as something that should be kept away from.

Found resting on the white wall of the lodge, attracted to the building's night lights in the tropical lowland rainforest of Tawau Hills Park, Sabah, Malaysia (Borneo).
