Diamondback Rattle Snake

Crotalus adamanteus

Habitat:

Lying along edge of service road to the auditorium of a County nature Preserve partially hidden by some bushes. The area behind it was a mixture of scrub oak/pine overgrowth, with a small wetlands further to the rear of that area. Crossing the pavement would put it into a sandy pine flat woods area.
