Tephritid Fruit Fly

Description:

Tephritid fruit flies commonly have beautifully patterned wings. This one is about 5 mm long and moved around continuously tipping its wings forward and backward.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
