Crinoid Snapping Shrimps

Description:

A small Shrimp around 2.5-3cm in size. The picture shows a pair, with the bigger Female carrying Eggs under her abdomen. Close-up of the Eggs shows the eyes of the embryos forming already. They are called snapping Shrimps as they can use their Claw (the bigger, they have one Big and one small claw) to snap and make loud sounds, registering up to 190dB.

Lives exclusively among Crinoids in tropical waters
