Thanks for the tip Mark. I agree that your example does not resemble mine. I had a friend snap a pic of the underside that was in this same area and the one she sent me shows a smooth surface. I'll mark this one as unidentified until someone chimes in with a better idea. Thanks again.

Hi Bill. These look at little thick and narrow at the base for S.ostrea (but they still could be). I think a lot of pics on the web are misleading but this is my ideal example of it http://www.aphotofungi.com/images/basidi...
The way to be far more certain is to shoot the underside and blow it up looking for detail. Stereum is an unusual genus that produces spore from a naked surface so there are no pores at all, just smooth.
