Common myna

Acridotheres tristris

Description:

These birds are bold, opportunistic and fearless. They thrive in urban conditions.

Habitat:

This photograph shows why the Common myna is almost becoming an invasive species in urban areas. They can exploit urban niches; here they have found a crack in a tall overhead street light and colonized it.

Notes:

They do this everywhere in cities...traffic lights, street lights at lower levels, cracks in walls...you name it
