Etlingera elatior
It is a species of ginger. It is originary from Indonesia but it grows very well in tropical gardens and is often found in Costa Rica. It has been studied for its contents in antioxidants, antibacterials and other molecules of medicinal interest.

I am trying to get this spotting from El Mini-mundo de Costa Rica but for some reason is not saving this change. Sorry if is still there. May be later it will dissappear :-(
