Banded Garden Spider

Argiope trifasciata

Description:

A small spider repairing it's web among some reeds and low plants, beside a small stream. Argiope trifasciata (also known as the banded garden spider in the United States) is a species of spider found around the world. Their webs can reach a diameter of about 60 cm. The length of the web depends on the size of the spider, capable of reaching a total length of 2 meters.

Habitat:

Found in some reeds beside the overflow of Hyena Pools, Mlawula. Stream bank in savanna/woodland.
