relatively large scops owl; nocturnal; diet consists of large insects, spiders, scorpions, small birds, reptiles, small mammals; 2-3 eggs normally laid May through Nov (peaking July-Aug); 30 day incubation by female while male provides food.

Habitat:

Savanna, dry scrub bushes, open woods, forest edges and clearings
