Fried egg jellyfish

Phacellophora camtschatica

Description:

30 to 40 cm wide jellyfish with a yellowish center. Tentacles have a mild sting and can be as long as 6 m. Not sure what it had captured in its tentacles. Spend much of their time motionless or slowly pulsing thru the water. Feeds on gelatinous zooplankton, especially other medusae.

Habitat:

Spotted in Puget Sound near the Nisqually river estuary.
