Thank you both for your input. I thought there was a possibility of it being a White-crowned but I was leaning towards Golden-crowned because white-crowned rarely come to Kodiak while Golden-crowned are pretty common: https://www.fws.gov/uploadedFiles/Region...

I agree with golden-crowned sparrow, considering you can see the golden crown. I see many images with golden-crowns having a pink/orange bill. Here's just one example which looks just like yours: http://northwestbirding.com/Images11Jan/...

Look at the immature bird. I use to get confused about that too until someone pointed out the bill color.

White crowned sparrow. The bill is orange. Golden crown is gray.
