salamander

Caudata

Description:

1 3/4 inches, lean, four-legged, big eyed, light browninsh stripe along the top, curled up in a zen-like manner.

Habitat:

Lakeside property Sebago Maine, clearcut yard, but with 50 years of downed trees between the abutting property.

Notes:

I was cutting birch bark for Sebago Lake firepit kindling, And I accidentally found this "Zen Salamander." So I impeccably replaced the rotted bark. He was totally fine, brown and black, just poor lighting for us all. Obviously, I sought my kindling elsewhere.
