Description:

Lacking in chlorophyll, these were only the early, fertile stems. Totally brown in color with 1 or 2 whorls of tiny dark leaves hugged each stem. The head was somewhat cone-like, white with brown spotting.

Habitat:

Edge of a pond, wet ground.
