Spotting

Description:

Breaking out of very hard and clay bound soil these largeish fungi have a large, deep volva, a downward pointing skirting annulus, unusual striations down the stipe to the ring, thick, irregular, crowded, pale, gills with possible signs of tan spores? The mature specimen was about 120mm tall. No spores were obtained from a spore print overnight. Shots 4,5 show a younger cap nearby just breaking out.

Habitat:

On s clay hillside in a nature reserve with mixed indigenous eucalyptus trees dominating.

Notes:

Yet to research this one. Some features I have never seen before.

Thanks CV. I've sent it to some local experts to see what they come up with. I have not seen anything like that stipe and ring before.

The reddish coloring makes me think of Amanita Rubescens... but I have no idea what this is.
