Spurge Hawk-moth

Hyles euphorbiae

Description:

Apparently a European species, according to wikipedia, this one was found in Wyoming. Severely lost? Diplomat to the moths of America? Dunno, couldn't ask.

Spectacular moth! Karen is absolutely correct, this species is found throughout much of the US.

This species does seem to be reasonably widespread in the US http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/speci...
