Description:

Lavender to purple flower heads about 1 inch wide. It is surrounded underneath by a black tipped, brown, prickly bract. Leaves are long with many narrow lobes.

Habitat:

Spotted at Tamarac near the Discovery Center. it grows along roads and sunny fields.

Notes:

Non-native plant in Minnesota.
