Aphantopus hyperantus hyperantus
Part of the nymphalidae family and satyridae sub family these small butterflies have a distinct ringed marking on both the ventral and dorsal wings. The female has a more defined pattern (as seen here). They favour brambles, thistles and ragwort and can be found between June and late July. Their wingspan is between 42-52mm with the females being larger.
found in the hedgerow area of Low common Maltby, owned and maintained by the Yorkshire wildlife trust.
The nominate subspecies was first defined in Linnaeus (1758 type locality: Europe). The population in the British Isles is represented by this subspecies.

They are always messing about with families and names of butterflies but I have edited my description to include both :-) Thanks Jopy.
Then ok, when I worked my graduate about butterflies, Satyridae was familay, maybe it's different now... :D

Again nice spotting :D I read description and noticed that is wrong family name, Ringlet is part of family Satyridae..
