Agkistrodon piscivorus leucostoma
This western cottonmouth was caught at a herping/hiking trip with some herper friends down in Okmulgee County. It was the first snake caught, and also my first cottonmouth (and first venomous snake). These pictures (except for maybe the 4th one) were taken with a zoom lens and not as close as they seem.
Near some water. Scurried up into some bushes when it was found and they had a difficult time getting it out, but they did!
This marks my 20th reptile spotting, so now I will become a reptile specialist!
