Brown Lacewing

Micromus sp

Description:

About 12mm long, more brown than green.Delicate, veiny wings. Not to be mistaken for a termite, though similar in size is more slender of build.

Habitat:

Urban garden in this case. They are predator of pests = a gardner's friend.

Notes:

I found him just inside the house late afternoon and popped him on the underside of my desk lamp which has a magnifying glass. After taking these shots I released him outside.
