Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata
The Twenty eight-spot Ladybird beetle, Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata (Fabricius, 1775) is a species of beetle in the family Coccinellidae. It is commonly known as the 28-spotted Potato Ladybird or the Hadda Beetle. It feeds on the foliage of potatoes and other solanaceous crops. It originated in the far east of Russia. It was previously called Epilachna vigintioctopunctata. This ladybird is larger than other species. Its body is nearly round, convex, glossy and up to 7 mm long. It could be orange or reddish-brown with 13 black spots on each elytron or wing cover and one or more on each side of the thorax. It has dense short hairs on its body. Both larvae and adults feed on plants. The adults feed on the upper surfaces of leaves, the larvae feeds on the lower surfaces.
