Megachilidae sp.
Nest of some sort of leaf cutter bee. Grand Junction, Colorado.
Discovered underneath a large wooden barrel-style flower pot in our front yard in Grand Junction, Colorado on June 20th, 2013.
Zach and I found that very interesting. He says it is cool.
Keep us posted if you discover the bee that made it.
Really liked the video.
Zach (age 6 almost) says it's cool you have a pet tarantula.
Hey that is wild! I have found several of these things all over our garden in a time of 6 years in Thailand. I thought they were made of bananaleaves and they had some caterpillars in it. They looked like cigars. Never did I unpeel them (I wish I had as I now don't live there anymore ) Very interesting!
Actually, we did find larvae in several of the pollen pods. Not sure what happened to the video of those though.
Lovely, what a find!! Skunkroot. Hope you get an ID on these most interesting nest, food storage!?
