Unfortunately 2 hours after we released this bird in the morning it passed away, we kept it overnight to protect it from predators and a large storm. Nature decided he wasn't suppose to make it...

I'm in New England, it's somewhat shiny parents not crow sized and have a loud kind of raspy call

definitely not starling and not black bird. Could be a jackdaw.
