Spotting

Description:

One of the most bizarre things I've seen. Looks like a tiny, 5mm tall mushroom like fungi on a stalk with vertical veins covered in a transparent gelatinous layer. A little soft and squishy but firm, see last photo for scale.

Habitat:

this was growing on a thin dead branch

Notes:

I spotted this while hiking on a huge, partially forested hill behind the town of Salento. It's not very wild at all but had enough vegetation and forest cover that I consistently spotted cool things the few times I hiked there.
