Wild Boar

Sus scrofa

Description:

Very dark pig looking animal with long snout and large ears.

Habitat:

Pine forest with some hardwoods.

Notes:

Spotted in a field inside of Joe Budd Wildlife Management Area just west of Tallahassee, FL. I drove along the dirt road and saw a dark animal then I noticed the boar. As I slowed down the young piglets kicked up dust and ran away. When the little ones were safely gone, so did she.
