Black Fly
Black flies are black and are very popular, especially in the spring and in the beginning of summer. The length of black flies is usually 1 to 5 millimeters long. You will see most black flies around bodies of water, such as streams. Black flies also bite humans, however there are usually no symptoms. Although, if there are symptoms then one of them could include anaemia or even a type of shock. During the daytime, black flies eat and feed, but only during the daytime, not the nighttime.
Black flies live in lakes and outlets of ponds. When having an egg, the female drops the eggs on a rock or layer on top of swift water. Then once the baby is hatched, they float to the surface of the water. Black flies are occasionally found from the season of spring until the fall.
-Black flies are more popular and common then other seasons, most common during warmer temperatures. -Scientific Name: Simulium spp
