Description:

This painted lady was spotted wandering a flower meadow. It landed on the road to warm up.

Habitat:

Montado/dehesa. V. cardui is one of the most widespread of all butterflies, found on every continent except Antarctica and South America.

Notes:

This photo was taken in Herdade da Ribeira Abaixo (Grândola), an homestead that belongs to the Faculty of Sciencies of the University of Lisbon.
