Wild Garlic

Allium vineale

Description:

Erect, slender, smooth stem. Leaves are hollow, slender tubes. Flower heads contain bulbils and sometimes do not produce flowers (as in this case). All parts of the plant smell of garlic.

Habitat:

Suburban backyard garden.

Notes:

All parts of the plant are edible. Considered an invasive weed, resistant to weed killers.
