Japanese Beetles

Popillia japonica

Description:

These copper colored beetles are approximately 1/4 - 1/2 inch in length and cause such devastation - making leaves and flowers look like skeletons.

Habitat:

Anywhere they can find plants to devour - and they are attracted to many!

Notes:

They have no natural predators in the United States and create a path of destruction during the summer months. They show up around this time (July) in southwest Missouri.
