Eristalinus arvorum
Notice the pollen on the hoverfly's legs. This is an Eristalinus arvorum (Fabricius, 1787), of family Syrphidae, subfamily Eristalinae, tribe Eristalini, subtribe Eristalina, subgenus Lathyropthalmus. It is distributed in China, Australia (Qld), Hawaiian Is, Micronesia, Northern Marianas, and Southeast Asia. It has a very distinctive eye marking in the form of spots. E. arvorum is an important insect pollinator in fruit setting of apple and mango.
