These beautiful orange butterflies marked with black streaks and white edging on their wings It is a very limited locality in south central and south eastern part of the island. Hence it is uncommon.

The larve feeds on plants belonging to family Dipterocarpaceae such as Shorea robusta and Ebenaceae such as Diospyros spp.
