Description:

Low-growing herbaceous plant. Clusters of flowers around a central disk, maybe about the size of a Nickel.

Habitat:

Deciduous hardwood forest, trailside.

Notes:

I'm really curious what this is, if anyone knows.

Thanks for the ID Leuba. I think I'll go with P. lanceolata, which is more northern in its distribution, but I never would have gotten there on my own. And thanks for the favorites everybody.

I think they are really attractive although over here in Australia, they are an introduced pest along the river systems.
