Tortoise Beetle

Description:

Small winged insect. Wings metallic colour, with clear edges.

Habitat:

Forest track. I've added an image of the plant that it kept landing on ... coincidence or clever. From a distance they look quite similar, and if I had'nt spotted the insect in flight then I think I would have missed it altogether.

Notes:

Not a great image, but the first I have seen since I've been in Asia so very happy. Might have to go back again tomorrow and take another look.
