Flatwoods Plum

Prunus umbellata

I caught this tree blooming last year (2013) but there was no fruit when I went back later in the season. This year (2014) I noticed that many of the pistils are twisted like corkscrews; I don't know if this is normal for this plant or if its buds may have been damaged by late ice storms in February.

Spotted growing on historic old road near Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield
