Boletinellus merulioides

Description:

The cap is flattened to convex when mature. The largest of these was approximately 2.5 inches, but they can grow close to 5 inches. The cap surface is dry to slightly sticky. It is yellow-brown in color, sometimes slightly reddish-brown. The pore surface is yellow to olive in color, but will turn blue and then reddish-brown in reaction to injury. The pores are boletinoid.

Habitat:

Spotted growing near a hiking trail in a wet, mixed forest. It was growing just underneath a rotting, fallen tree.
