Titan Scorpionfish

Scorpaenopsis cacopsis

Description:

Titan Scorpionfish laying at the entrance/exit to tide pools near Shark's Cove, Pupukea Beach, Oahu, Hawaii. I didn't see him on the way out, but he was definitely there when I tried to come back in. This guy was very large, probably close to 2' in length.

Notes:

It makes me laugh, this guy made me way more anxious than the huge whitetip reef sharks I spotted several weeks earlier. I guess the fear of painful poison is more than getting bitten!
