Ladder Snake

Rhinechis scalaris

Description:

This was possibly the leftovers of a Snake Eagle's breakfast. It is about 4-5cm across torn off about 30 cm back. The marks look like they could have been made by talons.

Habitat:

Thanks for the ID Ashley. I should imagine the amount eaten was enough for a whole family of Eagles.

Snakes are such an integral part of the food chain, it's sad something wasted this as a meal! Hopefully something came and ate it later, and I appreciate you leaving out the half eaten part of the snake and only showed the head :)
