Blackspot

Diplocarpon rosae

Description:

Every rose gardener hates this guy! It seems to be particularly bad in our yard this year. Threw the leaf under the scope to see what it looked like up close. I'm not actually sure if I'm looking at the fungus or just cellular debris from dead tissue. 100x. Next time I'll try at least 400, because I looked it up and D. rosae should be on the order of 10-20 micrometers long.
