Myrtle Periwinkle

Description:

The myrtle periwinkle is a trailing, viny subshrub. It grows from the early spring to the middle of summer. The color of the plant's flowers is usually purple or violet, but can also be pale.

Habitat:

It can be found in Central and Southern Europe, near the Baltic States, and in parts of North America. In North America, it is an invasive species.

Notes:

The plant has evergreen leaves that can be 2 - 4.5 centimeters long. The plant itself can grow to be 40 centimeters. The color of "periwinkle" is named after the plant.
