Large Yellow Underwing

Noctua pronuba

Description:

A very energetic species which frequently slams itself into the sheet and flashes its hindwings in the process.

Notes:

I may have seen an adult of this species before, but I'm not sure. They are very hard to photograph. I've seen a caterpillar of this species before, though.

Thank you very much patty and Leanne! Although it is an introduced species, it was a treat to see.
