There were many of these snails? on the rocks by the ocean. I see 2 small tentacles in the second picture.

My first inclination is toward calling it a "turban snail". My second is "top snail". I may be a biologist, but marine is certaiy not my forte. I'm just going off of my collection of shells from the Philippines.
