Painted turtle

Chrysemys picta

Description:

This medium sized turtle is a wild turtle that was taken to the ecology conservation center at Cole Canoe Base Boy Scout Camp. It was in the middle of escaping a water enclosure when I took the picture of it. It moved fairly slow and it would stretch its arm out as far as it could go to try to escape.

Habitat:

The rivers in and around Cole Canoe Base Boy Scout Camp
