Spotting

Description:

Underwater invert that gathered in groups of 100s. They crawled like caterpillars underwater. When stationary, they extended their posterior to the water surface and had white filamentous extensions that sat on the surface.

Habitat:

Flat, shallow, muddy bottom of a large pond in a cow pasture.

Notes:

Slightly overcast. Mid seventies.
