Carduelis tristis
Baby American Goldfinch. They have the sweetest little peeps. Goldfinch breed in the late summer when thistle down is available. They use the down to make their soft nests. It is difficult to tell them apart depending on the time of the year. Females have a white rump. Males when breeding have a black cap. Bright yellow in summer, duller in the winter.
